Dec. 27, 2004 Here is the text of
an article that recently appeared in The
Business Journal's Phoenix Edition:
VALLEY'S TOP MIDSIZE BUSINESSES
HONORED
Midsize businesses are like middle
children:
thought to be big enough to take care of
themselves, and too little to play with the big boys.
American Express, one of the Valley's
largest
employers, and the city of Phoenix recently
spotlighted mid-size businesses through the
2004 American Express Greater Phoenix
Midsize
Business Awards.
Three Phoenix-area businesses were
honored
as the first winners.
"Too often mid-size businesses are ignored,"
said Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon. You hear of
small-business awards and we all know the Fortune
500, but in cities across America, cities like
Phoenix, midsize businesses are a strong force
of the economy.
Recognition went to three organizations in
the Phoenix region:
• Quality Distributors LLC, Mid-Size
Business of the Year. Quality Distributors s
the 14th largest privately held company in Arizona. The locally owned firm, which employs 140 people,
markets products from leading wireless manufacturers.
• GHA Technologies Inc., Best Mid Size
Business Expense Management. GHA Technologies
is a 100-employee Scottsdale firm specializing
in network computer resale and systems integration.
• Aviation Communications and Surveillance
Systems, Best Community Involvement by a Midsize
Business. Aviation Communications and Surveillance
Systems manufactures products for airplanes.
Please extend your congratulations to George
for this significant recognition.
